CJ (Cutter's Joy)

My daughters Natasha, Alexa and Lilia had some wonderful friends who had horses and every time we went over they would ride them. Over time I became very close with the mom and our children were best friends and riding buddies. We decided it would be a good idea to get the children involved with 4H to keep them occupied and involved with horses. We did not have a horse of our own so our friends let us lease one of theirs to show. After a year we decided to make the big plunge into buying our own horse.

Cutter's Joy was Teresa Grant's baby. Literally she raised her from 6 month's old until we bought her at 4. Teresa and Pastor Grant were moving to Haiti to be missionaries and wanted CJ to have a good home. Of course we loved her as soon as we saw her. She is a red dunn mare about 15 hands tall and just too sweet. We brought her home to our friends' home where she lived and trained our daughters to ride for a year. CJ won almost every event she was entered in at the 4H shows and has always been calm and patient with new riders. She was our first horse, our first joy.

After a few years in 4H we decided we wanted to share our horse with others just like our friends did with us thus the beginning of Walk on Water Ministries. Everyone needed to experience the joy of horses and it not break their budget. CJ (I thought it originally meant Christ Jesus) was the first horse we gave lessons on and still a joy!!

Teresa, her original mommy, still comes to see her when she is in town and her grandchildren now ride her.
