About Our Program

At Walk On Water, we are a non-profit ministry dedicated to giving children the opportunity to experience and bond with horses in a safe and loving environment. We are committed to teaching responsibility, self-confidence, teamwork and communication skills with the help of our equine partners. We have and joyfully accept students of all abilities and backgrounds including handicapped or at-risk children.

Currently, we provide group riding lessons for children ages 5-16. Lessons last for 1 hour and consist of up to 5 students per mounted session with enough trainers and volunteers on hand to ensure that each child has a helper when needed and that everything runs smoothly and safely.

Mounted instruction lasts for 45 minutes per session. The children are then asked to help with chores around the ranch or learn practical umounted skills such as horse anatomy, tacking, leading, and grooming for 15 minutes to teach that horses are a big responsibility and need alot of love and care before and after riding! Students are encouraged to ask questions and explore this sport in an engaging and friendly atmosphere.

Private lessons and make-ups can be scheduled on the basis of availability. Terms may differ from the program for such lessons and can be worked out on an individual basis. Please see our lesson schedule for more information.
