About her:

We arrived at jasmines home which was in a rough neighborhood outside of Tampa. Our mare was being kept in a backyard which was very small and we were told she ate a whole bag of feed last night. Dog food. Hmmm.

I walked right up to her when I saw her and could tell her eyes were soft and there was still light in them. She wanted to live. Jasmine really wanted to be able to take care of her but by the looks of her own home she could not afford it. She did have coggins, shot records, feed, hay and teeth floated. I'm sure that strapped her. The $100 went to help her out. I wish I could have given her more. She even called me tonight to see how she was doing and I told her she could visit anytime she wanted. Maybe we made another new friend. I will keep in touch with her by e mail and phone and promised her pictures. You never know who God is going to put in your life to help.

Next, our baby was gently coaxed with carrots into the trailer where she had hay awaiting her thanks to Michelle. She ate the whole way.

When we got the ranch she was a little skittish. We put her into a grass pasture until we had her pasture and stall ready. When we went to get her she really didn't want to come with us but a little coaxing with carrots and she was following me like a champ. I think she thought we were going to put her in the trailer again.

Her new area she has a stall, a lean to, as much hay as she wants, a pasture and friends to to whinny to over the fence. Everyone whinnied their hellos and people friends came to say Hi and give her love. We took pictures and everyone left and then I wanted to spend time with my new baby. So I just stood by her and talked to her and told her she was safe now and she would have all the food she wanted and all the love she needed. No worries anymore. As I spoke her head lowered and she rested it against me as if to say thank you mommy. Then she let me kiss her nose. I held her for a long time and we had a picture taken together . Our first picture together. Its a keeper. Which brings me to her name. I was praying about that last night and God said he had a name. Shomer (sho mare)- it means Keeper in Hebrew. I think she's a keeper.

Thank you everyone. Your support and continued support is amazing.

Love, Patti
